Eligibility for Participation

  • The participating company / label must be a registered entity / product in India
  • The company must have been operational for at least a year / the product must have been available in the market for a year.
  • All samples must be presented with labels and commercial presentation. If the product was packaged specifically for the competition, the sample shall be accompanied by explanatory documents justifying the status.

Rules and Regulations

  • Producers and importers are requested to submit their wines and provide us with the technical specifications, pictures of bottle shots, maximum retail price and retail availability (registered in which cities).
  • Two bottles of each wine must arrive at the The Leela Mumbai at least two weeks prior to the judging.
  • For wines being entered for the food and wine pairing competition, an additional bottle per dish must be submitted. They will be logged, categorized and coded according to country and region.
  • The IWA organising team checks the shipments of wine received and the official documents that accompany them, corrects any possible errors and refuses samples that do not comply with the regulations listed herewith.
  • Every registered company will be notified of the results of their product(s) presented.
  • The competition results are final and without appeal.
  • Samples of participating products may, after the event, be used by the IWA for promotional or training reasons. They will not be returned to the producer or dealer.
  • Participating in the India Wine Awards means expressed and unconditional acceptance of these regulations.
