The India Wine Awards are the country’s most prestigious wine competition built on the four pillars of integrity, authenticity, credibility and relevance. The IWA are committed to recognise, reward and celebrate India’s wine industry and the best in class domestic and international wines available in the country. The competition results offer Indian consumers the ultimate guide to purchasing wine and winning brands an enviable advantage in the marketplace, whilst recognising the hard work and passion that goes behind creating a wine that consumers enjoy.
India’s most prestigious wine competition has set the benchmark in excellence by rewarding the best wine brands, both Indian and international, available in India. The wines are blind tasted by an unrivalled jury that includes the most qualified wine professionals in India, including the top sommeliers, importers, retailers, wine buyers, and more.
These experts will be joined by Chairperson of the jury, Sonal Holland MW, and together they will award the best wines in India, offering brands the recognition they truly deserve.
This year, the India Wine Awards medal winners were unveiled at Prowine Mumbai, a major international alco-bev industry event that took place at the Jio World Convention Centre on the 17th and 18th of October in Mumbai.
The winners at India Wine Awards were announced at a glittering by-invite awards evening on the 17th of October at the Prowine Mumbai show, amidst over 400 including luminaries of the wine and spirits industry, leaders of hospitality, eminent media persons, and key exhibitors from across the world.
The awards ceremony also saw a specially curated panel discussion by Sonal Holland MW, on ‘The Rising Role of Women in the Indian Alco-Bev Sector’ where she felicitated some of the most revered women in the industry.
Winners at India Wine Awards that evening were showcased at a specially designated pavilion on the exhibit floor throughout the 18th of October, the second day of Prowine Mumbai.
Post the Winners Night ceremony at the Prowine Mumbai, the winning brands will be showcased and promoted at various consumer-led events that will take place over the next 12 months. Such partnerships will be planned with elite members of business clubs, financial institutions and luxury brands.
The first of many such exciting events will be held at The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, the most iconic destination in the country where a special curated winning wine paired, sit-down dinner will be appreciated by the most discerning palates and wine-loving members of the city.
Raising the bar as the country’s most authoritative wine awards, the India Wine Awards 2022 tasting competition took place at the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, where we tasted over 400 wines, both international and domestic. The jury panel included some of the most qualified wine professionals from across India. With over 400 wines to be tasted, this year of the India Wine Awards was the biggest yet.
The India Wine Awards......what a wonderful night it was in all its colours and glory!! Replete with all the elements that it takes to mark a truly successful wine saga. A big thanks to Sonal for creating the platform and the opportunity. Glad that the wines were appreciated – feels extremely reassuring and motivates us to snowball our efforts in the right direction. These awards / accolades act as a testimony, and go a long way in marketing and re-inforcing the brand to the hospitality industry. Secondly, it also brought people across the spectrum in the Hospitality industry under one roof- be it restaurateurs, wine producers, importers, connoisseurs. Thus, it proved to be an extremely good networking event of sorts too. Lastly, but most important, compliments to the team (the silent behind-the-scenes workforce) for the meticulous organisation of the event. Cheers to many more such evenings ahead.

There are a lot of wines in the market but there is no credible system where you actually get to the consumer, knowing that this is a good wine. India Wine Awards gives the platform where experts from the industry, across a varied spectrum, are tasting the wines and putting their finger and letting you know that this is a good wine.

In the future, India Wine Awards, will help educate the customers to be able to choose the wines for their personal collection or for consumption in hotels.
