Powered by Sonal Holland, India’s first and only Master of Wine, the IWA 2022 is committed to develop India’s wine industry, ranking the best of Indian and imported wines available in the country. The IWA showcases the depth and versatility of Indian wines to the globe, while offering a platform for international labels to reach out to the domestic market.
The winning wines are showcased through retail, consumer events and media as well as to key industry professionals at events throughout the year.
This year, the India Wine Awards by Sonal Holland Wine Academy announced its partnership with ProWine Mumbai, the leading platform for trade fairs and conferences of the wine and spirits industry.
Together, India Wine Awards and ProWine Mumbai will walk alongside to help, support, and grow the Indian alco-bev industry.
As India’s first and only Master of Wine, Sonal Holland is the quintessential wine voice of the country and has shattered the glass ceiling in India’s Alcobev industry by being a role model for women. Sonal has been working tirelessly towards creating excellence.
Her ground-breaking initiatives include The Sonal Holland Wine Academy, in association with the London based WSET, which has completed a decade-long innings in providing world-class wine education to luxury hotels and the trade.
She launched the consumer-based The SoHo Wine Club, an enthusiasts-only club that encourages the appreciation of wine through invigorating activities and events.
Sonal Holland MW conceptualized the research report on the urban Indian wine drinker – India Wine Insider, in partnership with the world’s leading consumer research company, Wine Intelligence, which helps stakeholders develop a deeper insight in the industry.
And finally, to showcase excellence in the industry, she conceived The India Wine Awards as independent, authoritative and transparent awards that recognise meritorious wines and enable informed consumer choices.
Sonal Holland MW is committed to using every opportunity to share her understanding of wine with others and has influenced a huge number of people towards enjoying the drink, responsibly and in moderation.
She has been listed among the Top 50 Most Powerful Women and Top 100 Most Influential People in Indian Luxury and has won numerous awards in her incredible journey of becoming ‘one in a billion’.
I just hope India Wine Awards , gets carried on and on and gets bigger and better because India, Indian wines and Indian Wine Industry really need something like this !
